2020 World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10th.

It was established October 10, 1992 by Richard Hunter. Hunter was the Deputy Secretary General of the World Federation for Mental Health.

The top 5 warning signs:

Long term sadness or irritability

Extreme high and low mood swings

Excessive fear, worry or anxiety

Social withdraw

Dramatic change in sleeping and lr eating habits

October 8th is also National Depression Screening Day. I highly suggest reaching out if you feel you are having some trouble. Its nothing to ever be ashamed about. You have to take care of you!

You can speak with your primary care provider or an obgyn. Seeking therapy, or really any type of help for your mental health is a step in the right direction!

Be A Friend-Mental Health

Hey guys, I hope you are finding that even with everything going on it is important to take care of yourself and check in with those you care about.

Not everyone has a lot of free time I understand that… but it take less than 5 minutes to type “hey, how are you?”

Being a distant friend is okay.

Being a friend that has their own problems is okay.

What is not okay, is being a shitty friend and then complain when you get left behind.

I make it a point every week or so to check in with a few people. Make sure they are okay mentally. To let them know hey, Im here.

Sometimes its what saves the day. I know for me when my girls check in on me it helps to keep my on track. Like perfect someone cares, someone wants me to be okay.

Im not sure I guess this is just a reminder to be a decent person. It shouldn’t always be about you. Others need a mental check too.

Today’s Affirmation

I always hear people talking about manifesting positivity. They think it and it happens.

Rather, they make it happen. Speaking it into the real world. Thinking it to happen.

Do you do this? I try to, it can be hard at times. But I really believe it helps. Speaking it into manifestation can help keep you focused and keep you on track to your goals…

Do you do this? Does it help you? Let me know below in the comments!

2020 Mental Health

May is half way over already! Time has been flying by this year. How are you holding up? Is this time at home giving you a struggle with mental health? Are you more stressed, or maybe more tired…

Its okay. This isnt a normal life right now. It can be challenging and hard. If you have kids you might be battling a few issues at once. Maybe you dont have kids but are struggling because of a loss of a job.

No matter what is going on, please know there are resources, there are people to help!

Mental disorders; there’s more than just anxiety and depression. OCD is super common, but it can be an issue! Phobias, ugh I have a few. They can make certain tasks harder than need be. Bipolar disorder often times goes misdiagnosed…eating disorders… they may be triggered by stress.

What ever the problem is, know that you deserve to be happy. You deserve to enjoy life. If you are struggling, reach out to me and i can help find the right people to talk to.

You are not alone.

You are loved and cared about.

Maternal Mental Health

Today is all about mothers mental health.

Today can be the reminder everyone needs to wake up and know that a mothers job is NOT easy.

Today is a good day to start taking care of your mental health.

Postpartum depression and anxiety are real. The are not normal, but they are common. Reach out for some help.

You do NOT have to live being sad or angry or resentful.

Bringing In Joy

Joy-

What brings you joy?

What can you do every day to have joyful moments?

For myself its simple….

A workout, coffee, peace during my kids nap time.

Sometimes bringing joy to others is a great way to have joy oursleves.

I suggest send a random card or gift. Check in with people and see how they are doing. Pay for someone behind you in a line or gift to a charity.

Leave a comment below, I’d like to know what brings you joy!

Something New

New is often times scary.

New is often unknown.

But new can be the start of something beautiful.

Try something new, do something new.

Healthy Not Skinny

Skinny is beautiful

Curvy is beautiful

All sizes are beautiful…

For me, I just want to be healthy and comfortable in my own skin. Im not using a scale because that becomes an obsession for me. I am working out to feel better about myself. I want to be able to look in the mirror and love what I see.

I hope that for anyone they are able to see they are beautiful the way they are but the have the ability to feel beautiful for themself.

My self love is not determined by society , but by me.

Love your self. Find a way to love what you see even if you need to change something for you.

Success! You're on the list.
